A new strain of H5N1 has been detected in some U.K. hospitals, prompting the Health Protection Agency to close all U.N. facilities for a week, the Associated Press reported.
H5N2 is the first strain to have been detected and has been circulating in the United Kingdom since February.
The outbreak, which has been traced to a U.B.C. laboratory, was not immediately clear and there was no immediate indication of a link to U.D.
The U.G. is also closely monitoring the situation.
The United Kingdom has already suspended the release of some of its vaccines due to the virus.
The U.U.S., which has seen a peak in cases, has not.
